Bry-Air, headquartered in Sunbury, OH, is a leading manufacturer of desiccant dehumidifier products and services for technically complex applications with critical quality requirements in both industrial and commercial markets worldwide. We have been a customer-focused leader in the field of environmental control systems for over 50 years, and we are currently looking for a Field Service Technician to oversee our customers in the Midwest/West Coast areas.
Field Service Technician Responsibilities
• Visit field sites for startup, or service existing dehumidification systems to ensure that the product meets design criteria and customer expectations.
• Retain technical training on the unit to perform diagnosis of a problem and carry out its resolution.
• Prepare and perform on-site commissioning/start-up and repairs by examining unit design, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating site work schedule.
• Complete required documentation / field report(s) on each startup, service, and warranty call. Include photos which document the situation when possible.
• Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed.
• Manage customer related-issues to guarantee highest levels of customer satisfaction and meet, or ideally exceed, overall project or task objectives.
• Provide back up telephone support to customers’ technical needs when available.
• Maintain a high level of communication with the other corporate team members.
• Prepare travel authorization forms and expense reports.
Field Service Technician Requirements and Qualifications
• Associates degree or equivalent from a technical/trade School.
• Electrical coursework or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of three years experience working with PLC / HMI systems.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary–this position requires overnight travel 80% of the time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of personal auto liability insurance.
• EPA certification is a plus.
• Willing to work outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, in confined spaces, and in possibly extreme weather conditions; regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.
•Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
