Bry-Air, headquartered in Sunbury, OH, is a leading manufacturer of desiccant dehumidifier products and services for technically complex applications with critical quality requirements in both industrial and commercial markets worldwide. We have been a customer-focused leader in the field of environmental control systems for nearly 60 years, and are looking for a Director of Sales and Business Development for our battery technology division.

As recognized leaders in innovation with cutting-edge battery dry rooms, we are looking for someone with a strong background in sales and a firm understanding of the battery industry.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales and Business Development for our Battery Tech Division will be responsible for spearheading sales initiatives, developing business strategies, and fostering client relationships in the battery technology market. This role combines expertise in sales leadership with a deep understanding of the battery technology sector. Day-to-day work will necessitate familiarity with high-tech custom dry rooms, such as the unique battery dry room recently installed at iM3NY’s Lithium-Ion Gigafactory.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably in the battery technology or related sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development: Develop and execute growth strategies for the battery tech sector, identifying new market opportunities.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead and mentor a sales team, setting sales targets and driving performance to meet divisional goals.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the battery tech industry.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends and competitor positioning.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, including R&D and marketing, to align sales strategies with product development and marketing efforts.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor sales performance and market trends, providing regular reports to senior management.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Implement actions to achieve goals and key objectives, both short and long-term.
  • Track implementation initiatives on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Take corrective action as needed and publish results of implementation initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities and projects with dry room suppliers.
  • Prepare for international battery seminars and exhibitions.
  • Finalize the breadth of our scope of supply.
  • Routinely follow up on all leads and opportunities.
  • Routinely contact battery focused engineering firms.
  • Coordinate activities with Bry-Air Asia.
  • Be an active member in the Volta Foundation network.
  • Meet or exceed the objectives of the annual budget and long-term strategy.
  • Finalize the Battery Business three-year strategic plan with the vision of providing our customers with a stress-free experience.
  • Ensure that the lead-times of our offerings are industry leading.
